Sons of Gods on Earth

Proconsul skeleton reconstruction -- ancestor of Homo sapiens?

Genesis 6:4 (King James Version) . . . “4 There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown (‘notoriety’).”

Genesis 6:4 (American Standard Version) . . . “4 The Nephilim were in the earth in those days, and also after that, when the sons of God came unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them: the same were the mighty men that were of old, the men of renown (‘prominence’).”

Genesis 6:4 (New American Standard Bible) . . . “4 The Nephilim were on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of men, and they bore children to them. Those were the mighty men who were of old, men of renown (‘status’).”

Genesis 6:4 (Contemporary English Version) . . . “4 The children of the supernatural beings who had married these women became famous heroes and warriors. They were called Nephilim and lived on the earth at that time and even later.”

Genesis 6:4 (Complete Jewish Bible) . . . “4 The N’filim were on the earth in those days, and also afterwards, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of men, and they bore children to them; these were the ancient heroes, men of renown (‘distinction’).”

Based upon the various interpretations of these passages borrowed from only a few versions of the Holy Bible, you could say the Ancient Authors saw cross breeding between gods and men helpful in evolving new creatures (in this instance: humans / Homo sapiens) in an infinite loop of creation, destruction, and recreation.  In other words: the life, death, and rebirth cycle of the “Sons of Gods”.

OK, so that part’s easy, but who were these Nephilim or Giants and from what far corner of the universe did they hale from?       . . . Having completed a large quantity of research on this particular subject, here’s the simplest version that comes to mind:

Once upon a time, long, long ago, in the outskirts of the Milky Way Galaxy, creatures calling themselves Homo sapiens, a Latin term meaning “wise or knowing man”, lived in one of its smaller solar systems on a very small planet they nicknamed “Earth”.

As you might expect, they were not wise or knowing – odds are they were not even unique.

By some twist of fate, they had forgotten their birth origins and destiny as intergalactic beings of the Orion Nebula; the birth place of “the Gods of Earth”.

So over the years (Were talking centuries here), as “man kind” gazed into the night sky sitting around campfires longing for clues or a sign from on high, they told each other stories of creation, concocted myths, and performed rituals, to explain why they were stuck on planet Earth.

More than a few Shaman or religious teachers said all of man kind had sinned against the gods in some way or another; you know the ones who had descended from somewhere far, far away but had returned to the sky some time back.  Regardless, as the story goes, they were now quarantined on Earth until a “savior”, in one form or another, returned to save them shortly before the end-of-time.

There were other so-called “wise men” that liked to be called scientists; they taught, of all ridiculous things, that humans were “accidents” of a blind and dumb gene-generating universe; in other words, “freaks of nature” and to add insult to injury, they also insisted that gods and saviors didn’t even exist in the first place.

But then out of the blue some of the myths began to add-up.  One of these Homo sapiens that went by the name of Carl Sagan mused one day: “Some 25 million years ago, a Galactic survey ship on a routine visit to the third planet of a relatively common G dwarf star, our Sun, may have noted an interesting and promising evolutionary development potential: Proconsul, the ancestor of Homo sapiens, or modern man.”

This ponderance openly suggested a cross breeding connection which occurred in all likelihood somewhere in modern East Africa. It was simply the logical extension / supposition deriving from fossilized archaeological evidence found in Eastern Africa that was not immediately accepted but ultimately prevailed.  To put it plainly: Creationism by a certain member or members of the “Galactic survey ship” is suggested . . . Not by a god or gods but by living breathing beings from a different star system.   In short – Homo sapiens were; shall we say “designed”.

It’s not a giant leap in our thinking processes to conclude that the off-spring or descendants of the newly “created” humans would come to consider the cross breeding efforts to be the handy work of the “gods”.   Just consider this as a whole new way of seeing ourselves not as freaks of nature, but as a planned family of genetically engineered, star seeded, beings.

Suddenly the ponderings made by mystics, shamans, and prophets of early cultures made more sense somehow; after all, there’s a pattern reflected by stone structures & ruins at sacred sites throughout the world; especially in Asia, ancient Egypt, Mexico, England,  the Hopi Nation in North America, the Inca Empire in South America, and ancient Mesopotamia with direct links to beings from the Orion Nebula.

Interestingly enough, such sites & ruins that have been turned into tourist traps can now become star map sources of precious star seed information that just might reclaim our origins and perhaps our destiny.

Post Script:          Yea, yea, yea, if this all seems to be a really “tight stretch” as far as believability goes, you’re right on spot; which means that this particular riddle may live on forever, maybe even after you die; the good news is, by then you most likely will not care anyway. In fact this deep mystery may be as confounding as the un-answerable proverbial: “Which came first?   . . . The Chicken or the Egg.”

  1. It does raise a question since several of the ancient sites around the world were constructed to correspond to the shape of the Orion constellation. As for the chicken or egg, I vote chicken, since without the chicken, there was nothing to lay the egg. Just my thought.
