You want to play Chess but have no clue as to how, yet you still secretly want others to award you some respect. Having arrived at this conclusion, just think, if you’re a decent chess Player, people may at least think you're smart, and that has benefits a’ plenty, not to mention that respect is really what you're looking for….Just remember though, chess players are usually weirdoes. Not a normal weirdo, they’re like those people who talk to you in the lunch line, even though you’re clearly not going to respond. These weirdo’s make you feel uncomfortable and typically keep talking until you at least nod, a positive or negative nod, it matters not. In short, most superior chess players are typically proud to be among the weirdest souls on the planet.
Worry not, a bona fide dunce can learn to play chess but only when it’s possible to grasp how the Pieces Move about the board (a “cheat sheet” may be helpful in this enterprise). Also important, when it comes to chess, heaps of time practicing the game is most always essential … and it’s a really good idea to practice with someone that you know is smarter than you are … (click here for a list of chess players, some dead, some not).
To review how the essential moves are made go to this handy site: http://www.soyouwanna.com/soyouwanna-learn-play-chess 1451.html ... (I learned a lot of useful stuff there) if you decide to go there, see for your self. You can see what typical pieces look like and how to position or orient the chess board. Actually, here you can gather all of the basic’s you’ll need to learn how to play chess.
Things are just barely wonderful, right, so in the event that you determine the “game of chess” is “just too much” or “out of reach”, let’s face it, may-be you’re IQ is equal to a small box of rocks. If this is the case, you may want to consider something that requires less mental engagement, which can be found in almost any hobby store; such ‘man toy’ items can be found in brick & mortar stores or even in on-line stores; such man toys are made for dummies just like us.
